T

oday’s episode is one of extremes. We are discussing the big buzz-drama right now (Descendants of the sun)… A crack-drama that is ending (Cheese in the trap). And we spend a whole extra hour on talking about our favorite Taiwanese drama (Bromance) that has come to an end.

Lastly, we have a guest host! Gab is out of the country, so Sofia is joined by Frances who has a lot to say about all of the above. We hope you enjoy this extra long episode, and Bromance spoilercast.

That was a good 53mins on Bromance. I haven’t had a chance to actually debrief myself on the show. I agree with everything you said about Bromance. I still resent the writer for ruining such a good storyline. I was very disappointed with how things were going from ep15 onwards and, obviously, the ending. By the time I was on episode 10, I recommended it to a lot of people ie. my non-Asian friends & colleagues, and most of them actually liked it! Some even asked for other good asian dramas. However, by the ending of ep18, I felt bad for recommending it, although they still enjoyed it. I’d have to give it that ep1-14 were still enjoyable and entertaining. I feel that he should have found out in ep15 at the hotel scene (if he didn’t know she is a girl, but they made it that he found out from ep11 already). It was very uncreative that they decided to use the fans’ idea that he found out from the vet’s clinic. Like you said, very disappointing (sorry, I’m not too sure who is who. This is my first time listening to your podcast. Bromance brought me here 😂). I HATE THE FACT THAT HE KNEW BEFORE HE CONFESSED (not screaming, just can’t bold this). That was a huge let-down. The moral was supposed to be ‘Love is love. It doesn’t matter what your gender is.’ But anyway… it’s over. 😔 (I’m still trying to accept that it wasn’t a satisfying ending) You’re very nice for giving it 8.5/10 and you said you’re being stingy 😂

P.S.: I’m a midwife, and yes I agree on the birth scene on the bus – I skipped the birth scene without a second thought; it was unrealistic.

Isn’t that just the WORST?! When you recommend something to somebody, at the point where a show is at it’s peak… They start to watch it… And then the show goes downhill?
I know we shouldn’t feel responsible for that. But I can’t help but cringe sometimes. I need to go back to that person and say “Look… it WAS really good. OK? Now they’ve fugded it up. Sorry!”. 😉
Anyway, glad you enjoyed the spoilercast. Tell all your Bromance-friends! :)
