H

ello fellow K-drama addicts!
Sofia here. I’m one of the two Swedish K-drama fans behind this brand new podcast.

We plan to focus on K-drama and K-culture, with the occasional sprinkling of Japanese, Taiwanese and other Asian drama.

In this first episode; my friend Gab and I decided to sit down and have a chat about our favorite K-drama things from 2014. And since every K-drama blog/instagram/tumblr/etc has already done exactly that… we figured we’d shake things up by making our winner categories a bit more personal. A bit more nutty. (Hey, we might as well. We have no listeners at this point. We can go nuts if we want to.)

So, here they are. 9 categories and our overall favorite dramas of the year;

(Btw, this first episode is about twice as long as the episodes we’re planning for the future. Hope you’ll be able to stick with us until the end.)

The next episode

We plan to release a new episode every other week.
That means that our next episode will come out around January 28th. In it we’ll discuss what we’re currently watching, K-drama news and more.

Make sure you don’t miss new episodes!
Use one of the following methods: You can follow us via RSS, or Twitter, like us on Facebook, subscribe on iTunes or subscribe to this blog via e-mail. (All of these options are available in the side menu, on the top-right.) Pick whichever option works the best for you.

Until the next time, remember;
K-drama addiction is not a guilty pleasure. It’s cultural enrichment in a pretty package.
(Unless you really do watch exclusively for the shower scenes. Then… yeah.)

    Great first podcast. I’m from the US. I’ve been watching Asian dramas for about 4 years, but last year I watched more from outside Korea. I did enjoy a few of the ones you mentioned.High School King of Savvy was cute. I love my adorkable SIG, and the drama introduced me to Lee Soo Hyuk. Witch’s Romance lost me when the ex returned (yawn), but I loved PSJ in it and his adorable bromance with Cutie Soo. I’m actually one of the people who really liked Secret Love Affair. They substituted the piano scenes for most of the onscreen foreplay but that worked for me. Yoo Ah In and Kim Hee Ae had great chemistry, and I loved when it was just them onscreen together.

      I sooooo agree with you on Secret Love affair. The piano playing WAS their foreplay… if not more. 😉

      Since Gab is busy with a move I guess I’ll answer for her, until she gets her butt in gear.
      It’s never too late to send someone words of encouragement! So thank you for that.
      And I’m sure you made Gab’s day with this comment. :)

        No, thank YOU! Ooh and just so you know, you don’t have to be so burdened to a certain length/format because hey, the first episode is long and kick-ass cool!!! I replayed it for four times already! I just love listening to you guys and I’m sure you’ll be loved with an abundance of listeners soon!

          Four times?! Wow, that’s amazing! We didn’t think anyone would make it all the way through that first episode once. Nevermind four times. 😉

          I like long podcasts personally. If I don’t have time to listen to all of it in one go – I just pause and continue later. But unfortunately it seems like you and I are in a minority. Most people seem to prefer 1 hour max.
          (And also… 1 hour is more manageable from a sound editing point of view. So more than anything else; that’s why we try to keep the sessions around an hour.)
